Cervical intraepithelial neoplasia

The development of abnormal cells in the narrow neck of a woman's uterus (the cervix).

Cervical dysplasia is found by a Pap test. It's most often caused by the human papillomavirus (HPV) and may lead to cancer if not treated.
Most of the time, this condition causes no symptoms.
Mild cases may go away without treatment. When needed, treatment may include surgery or laser therapy.
