At the UN Plastics Treaty negotiations today. Not the type of environment I feel comfortable in. But: it’s encouraging to have seen the plastic pollution problem grow from something most people I spoke to hadn’t heard of to now being discussed by all countries on Earth.

What’s happening in Guatemala right now is unbelievable. The amount of plastic we captured… we’ve never seen anything like this before. We’ve been scooping day and night for over a week and we’re still not done extracting it all.

Spending 24 hours in Silicon Valley has already recharged me with enough optimism to survive another 4 months of European pessimism.
