Phowintaung is a Buddhist cave complex located approximately 25 kilometres west of Monywa and 10 kilometres southeast of Yinmabin, in Yinmabin Township, Monywa District, Sagaing Region, Northern Burma. It is located on the western bank of the Chindwin River.
