The Hague Center

The Hague Center spreads out from the Hofvijver, a lake overlooked by the Binnenhof, seat of the Dutch parliament. The Mauritshuis shows paintings by Vermeer, Rembrandt, and other Old Masters, while Escher in Het Paleis features the Dutch artist’s works. Traditional pubs, cocktail bars, and al fresco cafes cluster on shop-lined streets around Grote Markt, and fine-dining eateries sit next to bistros and gastropubs.
