Zipolite is a low-key beach resort on Mexico’s Pacific coast in the state of Oaxaca. Stretching between rocky headlands, the long beach is known for its strong surf. Restaurants and bars, many with thatched roofs, line Colonia Roca Blanca. On nearby Mazunte Beach, the Mexican Turtle Center is dedicated to the preservation of sea turtles. East along the coast is Huatulco National Park, with its protected coral reefs.
