Fritz Richard Schaudinn was a German zoologist. Born in Röseningken in the Province of Prussia, he co-discovered, with Erich Hoffmann in 1905, the causative agent of syphilis, Spirochaeta pallida. The work was carried out at the Berlin Charité. Wikipedia
