The Balkhash marinka, is a species of ray-finned fish in the genus Schizothorax of the family Cyprinidae which is found in the Lake Balkhash basins in Kazakhstan and Xinjiang. It uses gravel substrates for spawning and the unshed roe is toxic. Wikipedia
