Laid-back São Cristóvão is anchored by vast Quinta da Boa Vista park, a popular spot for picnics and casual soccer games. It’s also home to a large zoo as well as Brazil’s former imperial residence, a stately 1800s palace that now houses the National Museum of Brazil. Nearby, São Cristóvão Fair has stalls selling typical food and handicrafts from the country’s northeast.
