Juan Abad was a Filipino printer, playwright, and journalist-1899. His main contribution to Filipino theatre was his patriotic plays: the zarzuela Ang Tanikalang Guinto, and Isang Punglo ng Kaaway, the former which, caused his arrest and trial. Wikipedia
