Acanthosphinx is a monotypic moth genus in the family Sphingidae erected by Per Olof Christopher Aurivillius in 1891. Its only species, Acanthosphinx guessfeldti, the widow sphinx, was first described by Hermann Dewitz in 1879. Wikipedia
