The Rob Roy is a cocktail consisting primarily of whisky and vermouth, created in 1894 by a bartender at the Waldorf Astoria in Manhattan, New York City. Wikipedia
Main alcohol: Scotch whisky
Ingredients: 1 1/2 oz Scotch Whisky, 5/6 oz Sweet Vermouth, and Dash Angostura Bitters
Preparation: Add ingredients to a mixing glass and stir over ice, strain into a chilled glass, garnish and serve straight up, or mixe in rocks glass, filled with ice.
Served: Choice of "straight up" or "On the rocks"
Standard garnish: Maraschino cherry or lemon twist
