Hilltop Krisztinaváros is best known for the subterranean Hospital in the Rock, today a waxworks museum but formerly a WWII emergency ward and a Cold War bunker. The baroque Havas Boldogasszony Church has an ornate, gilded altar, and indie movies are screened at Tabán Art Cinema. Városmajor park offers kids’ play areas and an open-air stage, while sculptures dot tree-lined Vérmező park.
