Walerian Protasewicz was bishop of Lutsk and Vilnius. Born to a family of petty Ruthenian nobles, Protasewicz worked as a scribe, notary, and secretary at the chancellery of the Grand Duchy of Lithuania until his appointment of bishop. Wikipedia
