Johann Samuel Eduard d'Alton was a German anatomist born in Sankt Goar. He was the son of engraver Eduard Joseph d'Alton. He studied medicine at the University of Bonn, and subsequently taught anatomical drawing at the Berlin Academy of Arts. Wikipedia
