Mission Valley

Neighborhood in San Diego, California
Split by the San Diego River, Mission Valley is home to several shopping malls ringed by big box stores and chain restaurants. It’s named for California’s first Spanish mission, San Diego de Alcalá, established in 1769 and still operating here as a Catholic parish in a reconstructed building. Riverwalk Golf Club offers 18 holes on a public green, and the San Diego State Aztecs play football at SDCCU Stadium.
