Sprawling Wanchaq district is dominated by Alejandro Velasco Astete Cusco airport, and is home to rail terminus Estacion Wanchaq, starting point for trains to Lake Titicaca. Colorful textiles and alpaca-wool clothing fill Centro Artesanal Cusco handicraft market, while Mercado de Ttio is a busy farmers’ market. Tupac Amaru square has a statue of the Inca ruler, executed by conquistadores in 1572.
