Aretaphila of Cyrene was a Cyrenean noblewoman. According to Plutarch in his work De mulierum virtutes, she deposed the tyrant Nicocrates. Nicocrates forced Aretaphila to marry him after murdering her husband, Phaedimus. Wikipedia
