JS Kongō is a Kongō-class guided missile destroyer in the Japan Maritime Self-Defense Force. Kongō is the third Japanese naval vessel named after Mount Kongō. She was laid down by Mitsubishi Heavy Industries in Nagasaki, Nagasaki on 8 May 1990. Wikipedia
