Facing the Gulf of Finland, Petergof is known for the sprawling Peterhof Museum Complex, home to the 18th-century Grand Palace, elaborately landscaped gardens, and spectacular fountains with statues. Alexandria Park features the Cottage Palace, a Gothic chapel, and a sandy beach. The Kaskad cultural center hosts the annual Peterhof Film Festival. Cafes are set around the St. Petersburg State University campus.
