The huge, suburban Minhang District is known for Qibao Ancient Town, a cluster of riverside, centuries-old buildings housing handicraft studios and eateries, plus an ornate temple. The Powerlong Art Museum shows contemporary works, and the Shanghai Metro Museum explores the city’s transit system. The area is full of casual Chinese restaurants, as well as hip bars on Hongmei Road near the former French Concession.
