Leafy, upscale New Edinburgh is home to the Governor General’s residence Rideau Hall, a 19th-century mansion in lush grounds with a vast public collection of Canadian paintings. The area is also known for Rideau Falls Park, featuring dramatic cascades at the confluence of the Ottawa and Rideau rivers. Stanley Park has riverside trails and hosts the Lumière Festival with lanterns and light installations each August.
