Origen Storrs Seymour was a Democratic Speaker of the Connecticut House of Representatives in 1850 and the chief justice of the Connecticut Supreme Court from 1873 to 1874. He was an unsuccessful candidate for governor in 1864 and 1865. Wikipedia
