Gran Sasso e Monti della Laga National Park is a vast area encompassing 3 mountain ranges in central Italy. It includes the Gran Sasso d’Italia massif, with the Corno Grande peak, the Calderone glacier and trails. A cable car runs to Campo Imperatore plateau, with ski slopes and an observatory. The park is known for its biodiversity, and is home to wolves and chamois. Rocca Calascio is a medieval hilltop fortress.
