San Leucio

A UNESCO World Heritage Site, the hillside resort area of San Leucio in Caserta is known for its long-standing silk production, which was begun by Ferdinand IV in 1773. The sprawling Belvedere Palace houses the Living Silk Museum, where original looms and machinery are on display. Pizzerias and seafood restaurants sit close to Piazza Trattoria, the site of the annual Sagra delle Pallottole potato croquette festival.
