Pythonichthys sanguineus is an eel in the family Heterenchelyidae. It was described by Felipe Poey in 1868. It is a tropical, marine eel which is known from Cuba, Puerto Rico, and Suriname, in the western central Atlantic Ocean. Wikipedia
