Les Chutes-de-la-Chaudière-Ouest is a rural, residential borough bordered by the Chaudière River, where parks, trails, and a suspension bridge overlook a series of waterfalls. Parc linéaire Le Grand Tronc, a long, paved cycling path that’s part of the Trans Canada Trail, runs through the area’s woods and farmland. There are also several campgrounds, and a few clusters of chain restaurants and big-box stores.
