William Dow was a British-born brewer and financier of Montreal, Quebec, Canada. Born at Muthill, Perthshire, he was the eldest son of Dr William Dow, Brewmaster, and Anne Mason. Since 1652, his family had been brewing in Perthshire. Wikipedia
