The Balkhash-Alakol Basin or Balkhash-Alakol Depression, is a flat structural basin in southeastern Kazakhstan. The basin is named after lakes Balkhash and Alakol, the largest waterbodies in the trough. The main city in the area is Balkhash. Wikipedia
