Rabat Medina

The busy, walled old town of Rabat Medina centers on the Old Market, a souk with alleys of shops selling ceramics, spices, and jewelry. It’s overlooked by the slender minaret of the Great Mosque, with medieval origins. Fountain-filled Bab el Had Square has a grand 12th-century gate of the same name. Moroccan eateries and hotels occupy courtyard houses, and lush greenery fills the peaceful Andalusian Gardens nearby.
