Great and Good Friends

Historic Gifts between the Kingdom of Thailand and the United States of America
1818 - 2018

Celebrating A 200 Year Friendship

Our story begins two centuries ago when an American sea captain entered the port of Bangkok and initiated a historic friendship between two nations. In commemoration of 200 years of friendship between the United States and the Kingdom of Thailand, the U.S. Government organized an exhibition at the Queen Sirikit Museum of Textiles from March 21 to June 30, 2018, displaying the official gifts exchanged between the two nations under the title “Great and Good Friends.”

"The exhibit is a celebration of the events and ideas that bind our two nations—our shared values as much as our shared achievements."

- Glyn T. Davies, U.S. Ambassador to Thailand
